Kim Soo-hyun Dragged into “Leftist Cartel” Allegations: Is This Undermining Kim Sae-ron’s Case?
YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (a.k.a. Garo Sero), which has been leading the accusations against actor Kim Soo-hyun involving an alleged relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron during her underage years, is increasingly undermining the credibility of Kim Sae-ron’s family with its latest claims. This time, they have brought up a left-wing cartel conspiracy theory surrounding Kim Soo-hyun.
On March 23, Garo Sero uploaded a video titled “Pro-China Traitor Kim Soo-hyun (Northeast Project, LKB, Woori Law Research Association).” In it, they argued that Kim Soo-hyun is closely connected to Chinese companies as well as Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung and a legal research group called Woori Law Research Association, forming what they called a “leftist cartel.”
They further emphasized a supposed connection by pointing out that Kim Sae-ron’s family wore headbands reading “Oppose Impeachment” during a press conference related to their lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin-ho. They also claimed that Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative comes from the same law firm that defended Lee Jae-myung, suggesting a link between the two.
However, this baseless “leftist cartel conspiracy,” lacking logic, context, or concrete evidence, is only serving to discredit the late actress’s family further. Although Kim Sae-ron’s family has consistently maintained that the actress had a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun during her underage years, Garo Sero’s extreme behavior is leading to growing skepticism toward their claims.
Garo Sero has escalated its actions against Kim Soo-hyun by sharing controversial photos and linking him to the Nth Room case, leading to legal action from his agency for sexual violence and intimidation. Despite serving as the main voice for Kim Sae-ron’s family, their sensational claims and conspiracy theories are casting doubt on the family’s credibility and distracting from a proper investigation.
Previously, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho revealed an audio recording in which a management official claimed the late Kim Sae-ron met a man in New York, got pregnant, married, and later had an abortion, but the source of the recording remains unclear, with both the official and a close friend denying they shared it.
Meanwhile, Kim Sae-ron’s ex-boyfriend stated, “Kim Sae-ron’s death had nothing to do with Kim Soo-hyun,” and added, “She suffered more from her family’s neglect. When she severed a ligament in her wrist from self-harm and required emergency surgery, no family member showed up even after being contacted.”
Kim Sae-ron’s family responded by saying the late actress attempted suicide around 20 times during her lifetime, and in 18 of those instances, her parents took her to the hospital. They also pointed out that the ex-boyfriend only dated her for about a month, calling his claims highly unreliable. A more formal statement from the family is expected to be released soon.
In their latest video on March 25, Garo Sero revealed the identity of Kim Sae-ron’s ex-boyfriend and disclosed detailed information about her alleged marriage in the United States. They claimed that Kim Sae-ron legally wed a man she met in New York and included personal details that had not been made public before. This move has drawn further criticism, with many questioning the ethics and legality of exposing private information without consent, especially amid an ongoing and sensitive controversy.
